Panasonic DMR-E85H reboots at dubbing - help!

We have a Panasonic DMR-E85H DVD player, it's all been working fine until the last couple of days. We are trying to copy programs from the HD (Direct Navigator) to a DVD-R or RAM disk. We enter the dubbing screen and then proceed to copy to DVD and the DVD will just reset as if it's off, it show the time ect on the front, so I suppose it's just the menu program that's faulty.

I have also noticed just entering the Direct navigator "sometimes" does the same thing.

What can I do? We just want to get that stuff onto DVD.
