can anyone tell me if this model has a DV input (ie to record directly off a camcorder or digital camera). Also i understand it only records to DVD RAM format so presumably dvds made will not play on most other normal dvd players. Can it also record to normal dvd-r, if not is there a similiar one on the market that does??

    Thanks for the help!

Oops sorry Kyle is right NO DVi input

I forgot I now have the Toshiba XS 32. This has all three pluss support for DVD-rw which is why I took back my E55 and then my E85.

    Regards

A better question might be if any has a good experience of this recorder. The DRM10 has had some faults/problems/issues. A earlier post suggested this might have be solved - but it doesn't alter the fact the recorder has no RGB input.

The Panasonic E65 is a good choice: offers all the features of the Panasonic E55 plus DV input, PC/SD card slots and LPCM audio recording.

Is there any other way to record the camcorder signal without a DV input?. If theres a way around i may go for the e55 as at £90 more the E65 and toshiba dr2 are a bit out of my price range for just the dv input
