Hi, Ive copied a 6 min skydive vhs tape to a dvd-ram disc which plays perfectly normal on my e55 but not on my pc, xbox or my friends dvd player. Nothing happens at all !!

I recorded it using (EXT LINK) Linked timer recordings with external equipment with a vhs player connected straight to the recorders AV2 via a scart.

    Anyone know why this is?
    Thanks

most DVD players, or PCs come to that, will not play RAM discs - - try copying to the other type of disc this can record to - - -R I think it is.

If you want re-writeable try -RW (finalised) - if the e55 does them and if you think it's worth getting them.

How does that linked times thing work? I'm trying something similar at present and the dvd recorder seems to be 2.5 minutes ahead of the video.

Most pc dvd writers are dvd ram compatible, I use ram disc when i just need to transfer something to pc for editing.

Thanks guys it worked, i used a TDK DVD-R 1-8x disc.

Xenole, as for the ext link im not sure if its the correct way to use it but as i only wanted to use it once to copy a video it worked for me.

I used input select on the dvd remote untill A2 was showing then played the video then pressed record on dvd. Then i had to finalize the disc to convert it to DVD-video.
