Hi, I have a question about the above unit and how it communicates with my TV.
I have an older Sony Bravia TV, connected by HDMI to the Panasonic.
While my family likes playing Blu rays and TV shows from it, one thing that drives them mad is how long it takes for the picture to appear on the TV.
The TV can do both PAL-50 and PAL-60, as I understand it.
I've noticed that when it does the HDMI handshake thing, the TV shows that it is checking 50 Hz and then 60 Hz, before it finally settles on 60 Hz (I think).
For some reason, I think it will go with 60 Hz on Blu rays, but only 50 Hz when looking at the program guide, or the list of recorded programs on the HDD.
Is there a way to make it stick to 60 Hz only and hopefully speed up the handshake?
Thanks

The frequency is source and content dependent - so no I'm afraid.

This factor probably has very little impact on the delay in any case.

Ok, thanks for letting me know.

So, do you think the delay is more the result of the TV, or the Blu-ray recorder?
