I've jist bought panasonic Diga Recorder DMT BWT 700 together with a Pansonic viera 37" LCD TV using HDMI.
Problem: 17 minutes before a timed recording, the Diga recorder starts up, i.e. hard drive noises and fan runs. If you are watching TV, the screen goes blank and no sound. To restore TV picture you have to switch the Diga recorder on and off. Then at 3 minutes before the timed recording it starts up and records perfectly without disabling the TV picture. If the TV is off, unplugged, the diga recorder still starts up 17 minutes before a timed recording and the fan will continue to run until it has completed the recording. So much for power save!!
Does anyone know why this happens and how to stop it.
Panasonic say "it's normal". I say it isn't.
