Panasonic DMP-BDT110 or Philips BDP5200 or Sony S380

Hi everyone, Thinking about getting a Blu Ray player mainly to upscale DVD's. After many hours of grueling internet searches I decided that a Panasonic DMP-BDT110EB, Philips BDP5200 or Sony S380 would fit the bill nicely as they are both in the £90-95 mark.

The plus points for the sony are that it has Love Film.

The Phillips has wifi, 3D and surround sound, neither of which I need at the moment, but never say never. I cant really find any reviews for the Phillips which has really been bugging me.

And the Panasonic does come with a Star Wars blu ray box set of the last three films and 3D capability.

Any advice would be really appreciated, thanks.

Sony has best upscaling but if your half a half decent tv this is irrelevant.

Both sony and panasonic have good / regular firmware updates, the panasonic is actually equivalent to the sony s480 so I would sway towards the panasonic.

Hot UK deals currently is going wild over the sony being $49 in store in tesco if u can find stock. So I googled the player and noted it lacks dnla, optical out and Which say its not the best for dvd pq in their assessment compared to others. Otherwise all i've read is positive but i'm skipping it as I want 5/5 not 3/5 score for upscaling, if u value Which that is.

I'm having the same dilemma also, as I'm going to be treated to a Player for Xmas, I've managed to find the Panasonic @ £91.45 in Richer Sounds too ! Might see if Comet will price match as they are about 200 yards from my house lol, I think I've decided on it as the best all round features and will keep me busy beyond just playing disks, and not to mention the Star Wars Box set clinches it too as I was going to make the whole Star Wars set my first BluRay purchase it's a no brainer and I can just buy the other set separate.
Does anyone know how the offer works is it by redemption I.e a form the send off etc ?? I will have to check the Panasonic site for details !

As I sit at my computer, I have many windows up in my browser of TV reviews it is driving me mad. I think im going to cave in and get the Panasonic. I have decided that further review trawling is useless, like apples and oranges, they are all good in their own way. True the the Philips wins on paper as it has wifi but I really dont need that as my modem is five foot away from my TV set up. The deal clincher was the Panasonic being cheaper and having Star Wars, it also gets praise for audio quality which is good because im going to be hooking it up to a stereo.

I found some reviews very contradictory, What hifi said the Sony had a terrific upscaler while Which marked sony down on standard DVD playback.

Id like to thank everyone who responded :)

Agree with much of that. It's a real headache choosing between different AV devices.
