I'm planning to purchase a Panasonic DMC-FZ20 this week & the best price I've found,so far is £358 from Pixmania, does anyone know of a better price/shop,as I've heard very mixed opinions of this retailer ?
Also I've just been offered a brand new Konica Minolta Dimage A1 for £300.00 ,with full warranty etc.
Would you say that this is a superior camera/deal,to the above mentioned ?
Would appreciate any advice ! :suicide:

Have you checked out the FZ5 ... not sure the FZ20 has much worth the extra? Easily available below £300 and superb reviews.

Any more cash and you should look at a DSLR, esp. Canon 300D which is now very affordable.

    Condyk,thank's for advice !
I've looked at the FZ5 & although specs are more or less the same,it feels rather light & plasticky, compared to the FZ20 & the Dimage A1,I like a camera to feel solid & more substantial !Also does not have a independant flash hotshoe, which I would prefer !
I would jump at a chance of purchasing a Canon 300D but it is well over my set budget,at double the cost of the 2 models I'm currently considering !

    £349 HERE

Get Jessops to price match :smashin:

Also, there's a 300D kit HERE going for a reasonable price with warranty. Top company as well. Look under used, then digital cameras.

Go with the FZ20 - superb piece of kit and always wins best of category in the big zoom compacts. The fact that a year on it's still far more money than the new FZ5 speaks volumes of it's quality.

I'd personaly use fine - TIFF will produce files that are very large in size.

Looking forward to seeing some of you results...I think you'll be pleasantly surprised with the DSLR rivaling results this piece of kit produces
