Probably just a horrible coincidence but had the software upgrade to my Panasonic sky box on Thursday morning, switched to standby on Thursday evening and that was the end of it !
Have tried everything commonly suggested (reboot, forced upgrade etc) still just sits in standby.
Signal is fine, everything works fine with another box (Amstrad).

I haven't heard of anyone else having this problem due to update, so i guess it's just a coincidence and it was going to die anyway - just thought i'd check with you guys.

As far as I'm aware, the design of all Sky boxes is that the box keeps two copies of the operating system in memory - the current one, and the previous one. If the box fails to boot on the current OS, it reverts back to the previous one, so it's unlikely that an upgrade would make your box die.
