    Hi,

I have been offered a 42 panasonic plasma... but which one is best?

I am confused.. I am seeing TH42PW7B, TH42PHD7, TH42PWD7 and then there are some others TH42PE30B etc etc.... So given that this will cost me next to nothing what shall i go for?

I currently have an old generation Fujitsu plasma with fans etc
    Denon 3803 receiver
    Denon 2900 DVD
SKY + running through the 3803 then Component to the Plasma
Monitor Audio 8si fronts & centre, Monitor rears
    REL Stratus sub

    Appreciate your knowledgable feedback! :)

    Thanks

    Nick

Hi, I think most would agree that for your system, the 'best' will be the PHD7, it's the pick of Pnasonic's bunch anyway, and you already have sound taken care of, and component video switching. You will need a component video board as well.

I have the Panasonic TH42PE30 and it is an excellent plasma tv. I think the other models you quoted are plasma display units only so you would need to add other components to it. The TH42PE30 is a tv with Freeview and analogue tv tuners.

I think you are pretty safe going for any Panasonic screen, it just depends on what type of plasma you want.

Wicket, he already has all those other components, if the screen is near enough free, the HD panel only model is the one.

Differences are colour of bezel, and the PHD model is high res, and much improved processing.

PW7B - Consumer plasma display panel for UK market, 852x480 res.
PHD7 - Business plasma display panel, 1024x768 res.
PWD7 - Business plasma display panel, 852x480 res, essentially the same as the PW7B bar minor enhancements.

Listen to MAW, you know he makes sense :smashin: The Hi-Def panel is the one to go for. I have the PE30, like wicket, and whilst it is an excellent TV, it's not the best choice for you given your other AV equipment.
