    Hi there.

I have an AE700 and a number of DVD players - a Sony DVP-NS900V, Limit DVD900SE, Panasonic S97 and Philips DVP9000 - the last two connected via HDMI. The thing is I have different settings for each player, so it really is necessary to set up your DVD player and PJ using something like Digital Video Essentials in order to obtain the best image with your particular DVD player/PJ combo.

As an aside, I have found that using a filter - I have a B+W 81EF 77mm - definitely improves contrast and gives me a much more "solid" looking image. Well worth the money, but it does require quite a bit of tweaking with the projector's picture adjustments!

Using this filter means that the best image quality is obtained when setting the Panny to Video mode and using the High Bulb output. Now I've experienced the overall improvement I wouldn't want to go back to Natural or Cinema 1 modes without the filter! ;)

Make sure you can live with the fan noise of a projector bulb set to high.

    Regards
