I'm considering buying my first plasma screen in the near future and would appreciate some advice. Up to now I've only looked around in stores which seems a bit of a waste of time, because, if I went off what I saw, I would stick with my CRT. I will look in more specialised dealers soon. From what I have read on this forum and elsewhere, the Panasonic seems highly regarded and also the Pioneer (some others too, but I have to start somewhere!). What I would like to know is the following:- 1. Apart from the higher cost, are there any disadvantages in buying the 50" Panasonic (or Pioneer etc) over the 42", such as brightness of image? By the way, my viewing distance would be around 9 - 11 feet, depending on where I site the screen. 2. Does anyone really regret not buying a 50" screen having bought a 42"? 3. Same question as 2. but the other way around! 4. Is it worth or do I need to buy the tuner to use a satellite receiver and DVD? 5. What is the best method of connecting a DVD which has component out (not progressive)? 6. I believe the Panasonics comes with a one card. Which card is the best option? 7. Would it be worth upgrading to aprogressive scan DVD in the future? 8. Is it correct that a Panasonic series 7 is on it's way soon? 9. Are there any makes of wall mount that are better and cheaper than others? 10. Am I the only one accused of not being satisfied with what I've got and going into a second childhood!!? As you can probably tell, I don't know much about this subject!! Thanks in advance for any advise you may offer. Steve.
