I've been looking at buying a new TV specifically to leverage HDR/4K with PS4 Pro and the new Xbox One X which is to be released this year.

I had been looking at TV's and the Panasonic 58DX902B seemed to come out well in reviews (and still available in the market). The only downside I can see is that it does not support Dolby Vision and is not an OLED.

Advice I am after is take the plunge and buy the TV or hold out for black friday/end of the year for a deal on the 2017 models.

    Help please!?

FYI My limit is £1500 for a TV really.

Mostly to future proof myself as much as I can (less so on the OLED).

    Any thoughts to add?

you will struggle to get a 55'' OLED for <£1500 come end of the year.

Think more likely around March/April time next year is when you can get one (I assume you're eyeing up the LG B7). No such thing as future proofing.. next years models will probably have variable refresh rates which is awesome for gaming.

If your current TV sucks or is too small, I'd get the 58 inch now. If you are happy and can wait... just wait until something which really grabs you come out.

For me, I was going from a 50'' Tv to a 65'' 902B. I was going from 1080p to 4k. I was going from edgelit to FALD. I was going from a semi good TV to a reference level accurate display. That made me jump to the 65'' 902B personally.

DV really helps out OLEDs + lower light ouput LCDs.. not really that big of a deal for ZD9/902B/KS9500.

@aoaaron thanks for the info. I'd be moving from a 42" Panasonic Plasma (1080p) so it's certainly a step up as TV's go

Yeah then if u have the 4k content to push it, 58'' 902B is excellent choice.

a 58'' 902B vs a 55 OLED from 2018 is still proabably be semi-debatable as to which is better, one has better SDR, blacks + off angle image quality, the other has better HDR, no image retentionf or gaming so can be used as a monitor and is 3 inches bigger.

also if u dont have speakers, the 902B's speakers will be better than a B7s.

Also u get a years use out of a 4k 58'' screen rather than waiting.

Go for it mate, I went from a 1080p OLED to the same Panasonic you are looking at and it was the best decision I ever made.

Be quick because stocks are getting low I have read.
