Can anyone who's bought one of the Viera TV's let me know if when they sent off the free guarantee form, if they sent the original receipt off with the form or a copy?

    Thanks.

I sent off my original recept but not before scanning it and taking a photocopy!

I only sent mine off yesterday, but as long as it is received by panasonic before the 31 Jan, obviously with a receipt to say you purchased before the 24 Dec all will be good.

They say two weeks from receipt of the form, with the christmas break in the middle, I would not be overly concerned yet. They do give a number to phone if you dont hear in the next few days though (01344 706723).

It was stated that you should allow 14 days from the date you posted your application.

If you don't receive it anytime soon after then, you should enquire by phoning them on 01344 706723 or email [email protected] and ask them to confirm that they have received it.

I can vouch that they are very good at replying, and should contact you pretty quickly if using email.

You should have your serial number to your PDP at hand & quote it in all circumstances.

Mine was approximately the same timing as this (did get X-Men though as requested). However, the warranty certificate that came back has the serial number on - and in the meantime I have swapped sets because of the purple issue. I sent an email and they said they have noted the change on their system - I hope this is enough as obviously my warranty does not match my set.

I have thought about this issue in the event of my set needing changing. We spend all this money and yet have to endure so much anxiety :(

    Hello Daivd,

when was your plasma (px60 or 600?) replaced -
did it fix the purple snakes issue?

I have these plus this odd green tinge on fast motion - hight contrast dark to light scenes.
Although none of these issues are really upsetting me - however If there is a known fault and a new swap has fixed it _ I would prefer a TV without any issues.

Please let me know you situation and how you resolved it.

    thanks

My issue isn't so much with the purple patches, although I do occasionally see somee, but more to do with the hissing sound my Panny sometimes makes.

Due to the holidays, I haven't done anything about the issue yet and am still awaiting confirmation of the 5yr warranty.

Judging from the number of people on this forum who've experienced problems with Panosonic PX60s though, I think it could be said there is an issue.

    David :)
