Help,

I don't want to start a forum war but need advice on a tricky question.

I have the option of both of these sets at the same price.

The Pioneer is an ex-demo model and the Panasonic is a new, boxed unit.

What are the pro's and con's of each. Which would get your hard earned cash?

So nobody has an opinion???

I'll go away and die quietly then......

Get the new boxed Panasonic unit.;)

i would go for a new panasonic. amazing picture, amazing sound and about £1682 from empire ( pricematch with john lewis and get a 5 year warranty) .

I'd be sceptical of any ex demo plasma, it's possibly had static or short loop video played on it in some 'dynamic' mode that could cause screen problems.

The pio def is the nicer cabinet, the px600 is probably the better picture.

Thanks for the feedback guys - I've been a lifelong Panasonic buyer but like the look of the Pioneer - the fact that it's been "on" was a worry although at least I'd get to see the screen working.

The Pioneer offered at £1850 which seems to be a fair deal.

I guess it will be tha Panasonic though - shame as I really wanted a black surround.

Depends on who you ask pioneer has better picture than panasonic or panasonic has now better picture than pioneer. But dont really know if its good idea to get ex-demo plasma :)

I might be able to get you a brand new Panasonic PHD8 panel that's better than those two for much less cost
