I have now had it for 2 days and I am blown away with the quality of the picture. I have been using a PA20 for a year and a half and the quality on SD digital TV is incomparable.

The difference is so marked that even the Mrs keeps remarking on it.

Oh boy. I was getting really close to buying a 42" PWD7 panel and I see that the 42" PA50 is actually about the same price and I wouldn't need the JS Scart -> VGA hence saving £110. How are you feeding the digital TV into it? I plan to use a Sky+ box. Are you just going in via regular Scart?

Can anyone point me towards some decent pictures of what this looks like. Pictures from online resellers are usually small and, even worse, sometimes of the wrong model so I am cautious in basing a judgement on these. Unfortunately www.panasonic.co.uk denies the existence of this model (what a waste of space their web site is!).

The TH42PA50 is the European model whereas the TH42PE50 is the UK model. The main difference is that the PE50 has a built-in DVB (Freeview) receiver whereas the European PA50 is old style UHF only. Hence Panasonic UK do not promote or sell the non-UK PA50 model.
