I was going to get the 37PX80 but a dealer has told me there is a 37" Plasma in the new range due out in March which will be of 'better' quality and similar price.

Does anyone know whether this is the case?

You again? Get the hell out of here :D

Yes I'm pretty sure there's a new line soon. If you can wait, go for it as current models will be discounted even more by then :)

    Crikey that was quick!

Aaawww don't be horrible to me!!!lol I haven't been able to afford a new TV but should be able to now.

It's not easy to know whether to take the gamble and hope that I will either get the PX80 at a good price before they are no longer available or whether the new 37" will be any better and the same price?

    Oh decisions, decisions!!!

The way technology is now, there's no doubt what they're saying is correct. New models are being released at the same price as the old, and are better every year. Definitely worth the wait of a month or so. Reviews will start hitting the net of it before its release so you can be sure if you want to get it or buy the still available older model anyway

We are a Panasonic dealer and to our knowledge it has not yet been confirmed whether a 37" plasma will be in the 2009 line-up.

One thing for certain however, is that Panasonic have started increasing their prices as of 1st February. Audio equipment has increased by approx 20% while their LCD's have effectively risen by 10% by removing some of the dealer rebate.

New models always hold their price for the first few months, so based on last years 37PX80 RRP of £800 I would imagine that the new model (if there is one) will have an RRP of £800-£900. Bit of a gamble this one bearing in mind how much the PX80 models are available for.

    Thanks both.

I think I will take my chance and wait a wee while to see whether there is in fact a 37" Plasma in the new range and, if so, how it compares to the 37PX80:smashin:

I wonder how the spec compares to the PX80. If the sound was better it may be worth the wait.

Thanks a lot herbsz but it is the PX80 I am interested in.

I am not sure whether I will regret it if I don't go for the PX80 now and stocks run out or regret getting the PX80 only to find that the new 37" is better!
