I have recently acquired a Panasonic TX32PG50 which has 2 RGB wired scart sockets. I have a Sony Home Theatre system.

    It has a vertical ghost.

I've tried running s-video from the Sony to the front s-video socket: Vivanco cable.
I've tried running s-video from the Sony to the rear of the TV to the s-video enabled scart socket with the correct but cheapish s-video wired cable.
    Same ghost each time.

The Sony has component out which I would like to use somehow - but no scarts.

Am I missing something? I am almost a complete novice and would appreciate any help you may be able to offer.

    Thanks.

Why not try component then? If you have an old composite cable (red/white/yellow) use that for now. Component (red/blue/green) will give you progressive scan from your DVD player if it's capable of it. If you're looking for a cheap component cable, check out cableuniverse.co.uk.

    Thanks for the advice.

The DVD does do progressive scan but I have no 'component in' on the TV - just 3 scarts.

I'm not sure I will be able to input the component video correctly.
