    Folks

I am pulling my hair out trying to decide between both machines. The Sony is slightly dearer and both machines get fab reviews but any users out there with their own opinions?

    Thanks

Just got the E55 - love it too bits.

The sony obviously is more compatable with formats but i'm lovin the RAM!

Also managed to get it cheap - £199 from boots + £24 worth of Boots points so essentially paid £176. Very happy!

The Panasonic E55 is significantly better than the Sony. 3hrs full resolution recording, DVD-Audio and Flexible Record set it above the latter. The Sony is a good DVD recorder - and ideal if you need compatible re-writeable media - but to use all the features of it you need to use DVD-RW VR mode in which case you might as well use DVD-RAM which has somewhat slicker editting/playlists.
