    Hi folks.

Looking into getting a new goggle-box but the audio will be routed into the hi-fi. Thing is, this is the sort of hi-fi that doesn't have frills like remote control, I'd be plugging the Panny into a pre-amp with just source switching and a volume pot.

So, does this beastie have any variable-level audio outs (with a menu function to turn off the built-in speakers)?

Alternatively, does it have a headphone jack somewhere (that turns off the speakers)?

The only other thing that puts me off is that I'm sensitive to flicker and whilst they don't flicker like 50Hz CRTs they seem to flicker more than 100Hz ones - what gives? What is the refresh rate?

    Ta!

It is quite annoying that Panasonic don't put an option to have the internal speakers off but there you go. You'll have to use the audio out but I don't know what level that is set at.

What about a headphone jack? - that'll do for watching Freeview...

Presumably a 3.5mm jack in there and I've got variable volume and I cut out the speakers (albeit with a slight SQ drop over line outs).

    The PE50 doesn't have a headphone jack.
