Only a few players do it at present.

    Hello

I found the latest news about pal progressiv on www.dvd-forum.ch. (this is a reliable source for this kind of information). They stated the following (in german):

    9. Dezember 2002

    Translation:
    9. december 2002:
After long negotiations pal progressiv will be legal. Presumably in the next 2-3 months. This was officialy announced from the dvd-forum, macrovision and DVD Copy Control Association. But the output of 625p (pal progressive) will be only allowed for the component output (YUV, YPbPr, YCbCr). It is not allowed for VGA as long RGB signals will be transmitted. This VGA restriction will especially affect owner with older projectors with vga but without component input.

Sorry for my english but I hope this info will help

Not just legal but a whole new way of watching DVDs. My Denon 3800 into a Pioneer 433 is like seeing the movies from new again. PQ is noticeably better.
