According to what I've read here, the Panasonic 5 series does that.

The 50" Fujitsu P50XHA10ES will happily display both NTSC and PAL in both interlaced and progressive modes.

    Cheers,
    Ian.

So along with the Pioneer MXE range

The Fujitsu and Panny 5 series can also display PAL and NSTC
in prog and interlaced mode .......

So what about the lastest Toshiba 42 as this is a re-badged panny can
this also display PAL and NSTC in both modes reason being i can
purchase one of these for £2700 inc vat as opposed to £3495 for
the pioneer MXE 43 . Struggling to find data on the Toshiba capabilities in this area , can someone clarify.

    all replys appriciated.

The Hitachi already has a progressive scan function in the screen, and if you feed it with a PS signal from the DVD, it will disconnect its own PS function in favour of the DVD.

Toshiba 42WP27 is exact copy of 5-series Panasonic, so specs are the same (I think its the domestic version, as it has no timer capability).

It does deal with progressive PAL and NTSC signals - my DVDs play perfectly on it.

I think I am right in saying that the Hitachi and Fuji ALIS panels can take a PS signal, however, they do not display it as such (at least in the same way that a non-ALIS panel does). The panel will convert it back to IS to display.

The NEC will display PAL progressive, if you can find one.

Great feedback Guys , but still a lot of ifs and buts ,

Just to explain further i have just bought a Arcam pal prog DVD
and my DVD collection nearing (100) is 90% Region 2 .
So this is the reason for me wishing to purhase a plasma that
Display Prog PAL. At the moment i belive the options to be

Pioneer MXE (Def does Prog PAL/NSTC as confirmed by spec)

Panny /Toshiba (Apparentley handles Prog Pal/nstc also)

Hitachi ( Handles Pal Prog but converts to suit ALIS type display ?

NEC ( Same as the Pioneer , if you can find one )

    Any others ?

It would be great to have an alternative to the Pioneer even for
Comparision or am i forced to go the MXE route in my search for Prog pal combatibility !!!

Thanks for all the replies so far ...........Rj
