Recently got hold of a few divx movies and wanted to convert to DVD. I am currently thinking whether to use NTSC or PAL format. Which one produce better resolution? From my shallow knowledge, PAL uses 625 lines, 25fps. NTSC uses 525 lines, 30fps. If i am not wrong the more lines means more resolution right? But the fps also holds me back as NTSC has more. Since in a real film, it is only 24fps, so using 25fps also no problem right?

Is there any clear comparison which is a better system?

If my whole concept of this PAL and NTSC system is wrong, please enlighten me.

I'm not a DIVX expert by any means, but I have to guess that these have a native format of their own. What not to do, is convert, unnecessarily, the frame or line structure to something different. This always results in degradation.
