Can anyone tell me if the pace+ box is connected to a surrond sound system would give you 5.1 surrond sound.

Do you mean the Sky+ box? If so, yes it will give you 5.1 surround with or without subscription.

Only on the Sky Cinema W/S channels at the moment tho'

Assuming that you mean the new twin-tuner DTT & HDD box from Pace. At present, none of the digital terrestrial channels transmit DD5.1 sound, so the answer to your question is no.

Nearest you'd get is Dolby Prologic, on a programme with a suitably encoded soundtrack.

Just in case you haven't tried it yet, Prologic II sound processing (as found on most newer amps/receivers) does a very good job (in my opinion) of simulating 5.1 surround from analogue 2-channel soundtracks. It's particularly good also when fed with a Dolby Surround soundtrack.
