Pace Twin remote OK button

After many years of (mostly) happy use, the remote OK button is no longer working.

This has been a gradual failing and sometimes when held down the unit would respond after a few seconds. Now it appears to have stopped responding altogether. New batteries recently installed and other buttons are still working. Without this button I cannot set a timed recording:thumbsdow

Is there any mileage in me attempting to dismantle the remote to see if there are any contacts that can be cleaned? I am sure others have had this problem.

Definitely, take it apart and clean the rubber pads and contacts on the circuit board with Isopropyl Alcohol or switch cleaner spray.

The remote for the Pace twin is relatively easy to take apart, unlike some.

The two halves of the casing are held together by posts and sockets rather than latches.

Ease a thumbnail in all round - evenly.
