Pace twin is driving me mad

    Of late, my Pace twin has frequently locked up, failed to record programmes set - and now is a pain even to start up
    :mad: It has also got stuck in record mode - and the only way to stop is to cut the power. :rolleyes:

    I'm about to go on holiday soon - and I'm concerned that if it locks up, then it might overheat and burn the :censored: house down !

    I'm seriously considering dumping this piece of :censored: and getting a Humax or Thomson thingy

    Hmm is it under warranty???
    and panny have new recorder due very shortly 80GB and 40 hours recording

    I recall reading somewhere that leaving it "on" (rather that in standby) works around this problem. I can't confirm it from personal experience as mine hasn't (yet) misbehaved in this manner.

    Here is the fix

    Put a dummy 1 minute recording to the vcr scart before every HD recording.

    Works for me!

    Pavce informed as well
