    Hi all,

I have the Yamaha RX-V1400RDS and wish to to input the sky signal from the SkyDigital (PACE) box to the component of the Yammie. Is it ok to use a Scart to component adapter. The sky box has phono out so I will be looking at getting a Scart to component only.

    Is this possible?

    Cheers,

    Steve

no - Sky doesnt output component, it outputs RGB. Therefore if you need component video for your display then you need to convert it from RGB to component.

    hope that helps

Just to add to what david has said Sky boxes output RGBS yammy accepts YPbPr or YUV signals these need to be actively converted between the two. a passive cable will no do this..... HOwever a £150 Panny DMR-E55 DVD recorder will. and adds DVD-R functionality...
