P42ST50 poor motion

Hi.
The motion on my P42ST50 doesnt look right.
Basically, i get double images on fast and not so fast moving images such as people etc. Its really distracting.
I have tried to compensate with setting IFC to min and clear cinema to on but it doesn't seem to have an effect.
My sources are Virgin Tivo ( 1080i output) and a HTPC. All HDMI.
Is this one of the bugs people talk about or do i have a dodgy set?
Bought from Richer sounds about 1 month ago and i think the manufactured date was March 2012 if this matters.

Many Thanks.

Hi.
I changed the layout of my living room last week. I used to be at an angle and now im sitting head on. Since then i have really noticed it.
If this is the 50hz bug which i have read about then i'm really shocked that more hasn't been made of it. It's really bad at times. I have tried the IFC at MID and it seems to help, not much though, and i get the obvious weird motion.
I also have a samsung le40b650 lcd and its motion is way better than this tv but is obviously worse in many other ways.
Would a replacement set be any different?
I will try and borrow a ps3 to try out some blurays.

Many thanks for you help.

easiest test to check Record some football specifically when the goalie kicks off and watch the 1/2 way line, you should see 2 or 3 lines Then play back with IFC at max (ignore the judder of the ball) and then check the 1/2 way line again, should now be 1 line In theory this "should" eliminate the 50hz bug (although you get weird judder using IFC at max)

Setting IFC at the middle/medium setting on my GT30 helps to pretty much eliminate the 50Hz 'bug' on TV broadcasts on my set.

I'm not really a sports fan but I am fussy about picture quality, so I've often tried to hunt out the 50Hz bug when football or tennis is shown on Freeview and have so far failed to observe it, so I can only conclude that setting IFC to (at least) the medium setting does help.

This setting seems to reduce judder on BluRays too.

In both cases, I haven't noticed the unnatural motion that people talk about - I only start to notice this when IFC is set to max.

Hi.
Would having "Clear Cinema" set on make any difference? I'm not sure what this is supposed to do.
I can try a bluray tomorrow. I will also try the IFC on MID again to see if that helps.

Thanks for all your help.
