considering buying the first two seasons of this after hearing some good things. I've never actually seen the show on TV

Does anyone own them, if so is it worth it?

They were on late night on 2 I think, I saw a couple of them and they were very grim, very well acted and very good. But on at stupid oclock. I think they started at 11.30, so, been a light weight, I never saw the end of them!!!

Oz is definitely a black and white show. By that, I mean you either like or you don't. It's pretty intense, but plays a lot like a soap opera in its pacing. Plus, it's got lots of naked men in it, so if this bugs you, you might want to steer clear.

But, it is very consistent, so if you track down an episode and like it, you'll probably like the series. Prison sex aside, I think it's very good. :) Great characters and some really good storylines.

As brilliant and riveting as Oz is, good God, I couldn't imagine wanting to put myself through repeat viewings of the only programme so depressing and full of hopelessness that it makes Eastenders look like the Teletubbies.
