I need member reviews of this player please. All you nice folks who already have the player... Come on now.

I can't believe there hasn't been any reviews of this yet!? Despite being half the price of the Oppo, I'm still finding it hard to justify paying £100 extra for Dolby Vision compared to an Xbox One S.

I'm also still not over the fact the PS4 Pro didn't include a UHD Blu Ray player, let alone Dolby Vision.

Got mine yesterday, so far only watched Fantastic Beasts UHD. Up until now, have been using PS4 for BD's, so that's all I have to compare it to. Have to say I think it looks great, but I still need to tweak my TV settings to get the best from it I think. Was a bit rushed last night as SWMBO was keen to just watch the film! Sorry I can't give a more in-depth review. Bring on the DV discs!

Should have mine by the end of the week. Wasn't going to bother, as I've already pre-ordered the Sony, but curiosity has gotten the better of me.

Anyone in the same boat?

Yes I am having the same problem. I'm also trying to get a refund on the lower price as well. Amazon are making me cancel my order and reorder it.

I ordered on Thursday from Amazon but cancelled as they wouldn't refund the difference when the price went down. I did a live chat Saturday & told them I wanted to cancel the order & was told they would do a stop & return with the courier, Arrow XL. I had a message from Arrow yesterday morning to say they were going to deliver between 3-5! Had to call Amazon to get it stopped.

Just checked again and it's now gone up by over £50 on Amazon.co.uk. Lovely Could have got this for under £299 the other day.

Seems decent enough to me. Just watched the first ep of planet earth 2 and it looks great, I do get the bright line at the bottom of the screen though that others mention, so I'm having to slightly overscan the image to get rid of it. I'm hoping this is something known to LG for them to fix.

I don't have any comparison to any other UHD blu-ray players so I can't say how it stacks up, but looks pretty good to my eyes. The only other disc i have is the martian so going to watch that now.

Just finished the Martian, looked great. I did notice 3 points during the movie where the sound cut out for a fraction of a second. If i rewound and replayed the same point it didnt happen again. Not sure what to make of that.

Also receive mine yesterday. So here's my 2p's worth.

Can't fault the picture on UHD PE2 episode 1 or Blu-ray Skyfall, DVD Casino Royale is very much SD, audio Peter Shilling CD sounded OK. All audio via TV to Hi-Fi system. No line at the bottom of the picture on PE2. Using Amazon basics HDMI 2.0 cable 0.9m. Also have the six disc 4K set to view when I get time.

Build quality, is very much built down to price, surprising as it it currently their top disk player. Front, top and sides are all a one piece plastic moulding, i.e. no metal top. Remote is OK but the Blu-ray player graphic is OTT bit like the Panasonic 300/400 is. But at least there is no Netflix or other streaming provider button.

Not used or seen another UHD player, use Amazon Video and have seen the BBC Iplayer UHD demo via Sky Q, but can't compare it with another player.

As previously reported Netflix and Youtube still require a firmware update to use.

Overall for £300 pleased.

That's interesting you're not getting the line at the bottom, I definitely get it the same as other people. Is your TV definitely doing a 1:1 pixel map without any overscanning? Also, did you notice and audio dropouts? Mine was on the martian in dolby atmos.

1:1 as far as I am aware, will check again tonight. No audio issues.

First impressions are largely positive. I've had no white line issue, mine is going straight the TV via the HDMI out. It's a swift little bugger, everything loads quickly. Chapter skipping and jumping back and forth from on disc menus, is also fast and smooth. All the things that bugged me about playback on the Xbox One S, are gone.

Drive noise has varied, with some noise upon bootup for some titles, and during their initial menus. During actual playback, it's silent. Discs that had issues with macroblocking in areas, (Oblivion), on the Xbox, are fine here.

The upscaling is also decent, I bunged in 101 Films' Alien Nation disc, which has basically been slapped on a disc, and it looked lovely. I also used this disc to test being able to move the position of any subtitles, and it worked a treat.

Netflix and Youtube not working is a bit of a joke, but at the same time, I have these services elsewhere, so don't really care that much.

So yeah, not a bad wee deck. We'll see how it stacks against the Sony tomorrow, though.

P.S. The fact that I could turn my TV on with the remote, and adjust the volume, also tickled me. *sigh*
