i feel it necessary to post this review as i do not feel alone in such matters: purchased my OWL 6ft electric othello in JULY 03, mounted SEPT 03 was really pleased with the screen, hung really flat and seemed really good anyway, june this year (after only 350 hours use) i started to get ripples, top left of screen and top right. I contacted OWL and notified them of the issue, and was told an engineer would contact me 2-3 weeks passed and no contact, i even emailed them i contacted kenthomecinema (KHC & avsales) who said they would contact them, and did so and an engineer would contact me, but never did! contacted KHC again, they sounded surprised and contacted OWL once more..still no contact eventually end of JULY arrives and OWL are spoke to..they say that the warranty is now out! yeah right, itsw only out due to them waiting 6 weeks to speak to anyone..so they agree and say they will change screen. new screen is sent, they send it when im not in after not even speaking to me.so luckily i arrange re-delivery and get it rigged it up, droped screen.its a different model! so i rang up the nice people at OWL and lady says "does it matter to you sir" well yes of course it does! contact KHC once more, and say i want it changing..turns out they dont stock the OTHELLO anymore more cus its rubbish and they have changed so many! so why wasnt i told before hand! several days pass, after me chasing it up again, they have found me one....so arrange courier of that one. Again, thy send it before asking if i'm in, miss delivery but get it re-arranged.......get it in house..its only EX-DISPLAY!!! so they sent me a second hand screen without discussing it with me which was older than my current screen and who knows what condition (cus the casing was scratched and covered in biro marks!!) so i ask for refund OWL arrange to collect all faulty screens on a Monday morning, so i take time off again..as one screen does not have box so needs them to fetch it 9 am phone rings, engineer wont be there! great..12:30 phone rings, engineer will be there shortly! engineer turns up, collects screens,and puts unboxed one in van at an angle without any box!!!! so as you can see, months of hell with OWL VIDEO and i wouldnt touch with a bargepole. KHC were great throughout can i point out and can recommend highly..and i am shocked they still use such a company though! so, please beware of what i consider to be an awful company..yes i know screens arent produced by them..but considering they know the manufacturers have produced bad screens they should have rectified promptly..not waited for me to go away..and the customer service is absolutely awful.
