I've been tinkering around in the service menu of my Panasonic TX32PL1 TV this weekend trying to improve the geometry a little using Avia's test patterns.

When I looked at the amount of overscan though I noted that my TV could manage no less that 5% horizontal overscan on each side whilst I could set around 3% vertically (the defaults in fact).

However, to keep the image ratio faithful to the original and maintain a 16:9 image field surely I should keep overscan the same all round, ie change the vertical overscan to 5% too. This I have duly done.

Any bright sparks care to tell me if this is correct or otherwise?
