hey everyone, because the 4000+ is about £100 more than the 3700+, would overclocking the 3700+ to 2.4ghz cause any problems? eg, would more elctricity be used up, more heat produced, less stablity somehow? is it even possible that the cpu will die out quicker than if I left it at 2.2ghz?
Hi, It would produce a lot of heat. i wouldn't really do it without having water cooling but you could do it you have a lot of fans and not a standard heatsink. i'm not to sure about the stablity of the 3700, the best AMD for overclocking is the 3000+ i've got that running at 2.4 with fans and a XP-120 heatsink.
