I believe that they are supplied by the manufacturer directly to the public just like SVS and are therefore great value for money for that reason alone.

They have a huge fan base in USA and there are loads of threads on AVS devoted to Outlaw as the amps seem to be popular over there.

We need a guinea pig over here so please buy one and set the ball rolling :D

    Cheers for the info Ian:

Well i'm looking into doing a power amp conversion with my Marantz SR43000 as the pre amp. (Yeah i know it's only a 6 channel amp, but it'll do for starters)

I'd love to buy one, but i'm just doing some research at the moment, and look into doing it in a few months time.

Also i'd love an SVS too :D but then you can spend, spend, spend very easily in the HT world !! :rotfl:

No idea.. it could be the same priciple as the Arcam/NAD amps which are the same base model.. but then Arcam have upgraded/changed components.

But from the website it reads like one firm designs it and the factory sells to whoever wishes to use it? You wold hope there are changes otherwise the price diffences between them would be redundant.

Also from looking at the outlaw website they do not seem to do 240v versions and hence do not sell internationally.. not like SVS for example... at least AT are already here!

Regarding Outlaw amps. I'm new to this forum, and first read about their amps here - I'm after a processor/power amp combination for movies and music.

Bad news I'm afraid. I mailed Outlaw to check on availabilty in the UK and was told they don't ship outside of the US or Canada. Shame.

Does anyone know how Atlantic's amps compare to Rotel stuff (RSP 1066/ RMB1075)?. That's the only other equipment I know of in remotely the same price range.

Yep Chrisp7091 is right, here was my reply from Outlaw.

    Hello *******,

    Thanks for contacting the Outlaws!

Unfortunately, our electronics are not available with 230V AC power supplies, or with European tuning frequencies when applicable. Unfortunately, it is just not economically or logistically effective to sell direct to other parts of the world. Besides the added shipping, duties, and taxes you face, service and support are even more difficult. Thank you for understanding.

Please feel free to contact us with any further questions or concerns.

    Best Regards,

    Scott

So then it's back to the Rotel ranch methinks, ah well worth a try.

    Cheers

Yes - sorry, that is quite a major difference  !!.

I was really referring to a comparison in terms of sound quality. I tend to ignore the capabilty to have 2 more speakers connected as I barely have room for 5.1 :) !!.

I only need a 5.1 power amp as well... seems a shame to waste the extra 2 channels :)

I'll probably buy second hand to get better value for money....(though the AT would be nice)

    Cheers

Well i'd like 7.1 as my next upgrade, but it'll look like just to get a better 5.1 power amp first like the Rotel 1075 to go with my Marantz, and the maybe the 1068 Processor & the 1070 2ch amp to make up 7.1 at a later date ??

Yeah the Outlaw stuff would be nice, but then i'm sure something else will turn up.

    Hello all

I believe the 'common chassis' as used by Atlantic Technology for the P-2000 and A-2000 is actually available from three manufacturers; though each of them do customise the units.

As far as I'm aware the Atlantic Technology units are the only 240v variations and it may be that the distribution agreements on the two alternative brands don't allow them to be shipped to the UK.

I've only just installed an A-2000/P-2000 into my PlasmaTV set up and have to say its doing a great job - possibly for many the type of swap I made from an Integrated AV Receiver (VSX-AX5i) up to the separates is the 'next step' in system building and certainly from initial impressions there's a big jump up in fidelity.

I'd also be happy to put the Atlantic Technology combination head to head with the Rotel and similar units and the inclusion of the Cirrus Logic processing adds an extra dimension to the possibilities with the P-2000 processor.

Have a look in the Power Buy section as we have the Atlantic Technology units available to AV Forum members at reduced price's.

    Best regards

    Joe

    Hello Matt

I know what you mean - though I jumped for the new Processor/Power amp combination first and the AV Receivers just found a new home in Sussex :)

    Best regards
