I would like to get some speakers for the garden (average 4 bed detached 'on estate' size) and would like some advice from anyone with experience of these. Quite like the Bose outdoor ones like you get at Alton Towers, etc, etc, but have seen some shaped like rocks, planters etc which are obviously a little more discreet but never heard of the manufacturers before so I'm not too sure about these.
    Any ideas anyone?

Where are you? Sonance Mariner/Mariner Jnr 10 are goood and can go in rock boxes also look at BOSE 151, 251 and freespace 51, all are passive so require an amp. Also some cheaper ones are available but sound can be very poor!

    Thanks for the reply.
I would be connecting them to my Denon 2802 receiver utilising the 'multiroom' capability of the receiver. I believe this is compatible, what do you think?
Also, the speakers you have mentioned - Can you recommend any websites/dealers for these products?

    Hornydragon,

South Yorkshire/North Derbyshire area. Budget up to £250. Style-open to suggestion, will consider what is available at relevant price point. I'm more interested in sound quality.
    Thanks

Go to bose site and ring a few local dealers should have either 251 or 151 on demo.
We have some boston "rocks" on order, Sonance Mariner are the best i have heard.

Another vote here for Sonance Mariner, Sonance also do a rock speaker (not as good as mariner) or a Rock or Pedestal(!) enclosure to encase a single mariner speaker (v. expensive).

Jamo's Rock 6.2A is a good quality single stereo speaker (1 bass driver, 2 tweeters) can be had for less than £250 ea but a pair of Mariner JR 10s (similar price) will give you the best quality IMO
