No, I think Hyundai have just underestimated the worldwide demand for the Ioniq. How annoying for you I wonder if I should ring Nissan?
I spoke to Hyundai UK PR and they helpfully found a Premium from a cancelled order, but we want the features of the Premium SE like the driver seat memory (there is 9 inches difference in height between me and Vicki) and the front parking sensors (I'm particularly bad at judging front distance) so I declined. We're also set on white to the extent that we declined a fleet sales free upgrade worth £500 from white to any metallic colour.I was wondering if that was going to happen to you. there is a woman on the UK Hyundai Ioniq facebook group who was told two days ago that hers was going to be delayed for three months...she was going to cancel her order as she needs a car in a months time. They spoke to the dealer and have managed to swap from the Orange they wanted to a black one that will be delivered next month as originally planned. There is brand new undriven Premium on ebay just now from a dealer.
What's the noise like compared to what you're used to? I remember the weird feeling when it started up silently.Yweah i wanted the Premium SE for the electric seat memories as well but i bottled it....hang in there Stuart. I just droive 10 miles journey to drop cat off for his holidays and car said i'd done 5.9kWh journey average...pretty amazing. That was tootling around country lanes and local streets in Guildford.
I wonder if this is just ICE owners having a hard time to acknowledge EVs as a force to be reckoned with? I am not convinced a Lexus can be as quiet. No matter how good the engine sound insulation is I reckon you hear the engine in every ICE car. Sure it fades into the background as you drive everyday but I reckon this comparison is skewed by human nature a fair bit.On a noise level i'd say it's on par with a decent hi-end quality car. It's much quieter than my old VW's and my wifes 3 series BMW at normal driving around speeds. At 80 on the motorway you obviously hear tyre and wind noise much more but it's still as quiet or quieter than my other cars have been. My mate who took it for a spin put it on par with his old Lexus for noise. The thing that really sets it apart though is the effortless whooshiness for want of a better word...no mechanical shaking feeling from an ICE..
