If you want the absolute best protection for your iPad Air, then this is want you want.

Easy to fit, but very strong and sturdy. I've dropped my iPad a number of times (the worst being from a chest high bistro table in a coffee shop on to a tiled floor), and the Otterbox has done its job superbly well every time. Indeed these drops haven't even marked the cover, let alone its contents.

The case is made of a white two-piece snap-together hard plastic internal shell that has impact absorbing material on its inner face, which encases the iPad back and front. This is then covered by a thick but flexible rubberised outer case in grey. Finally, to complete the package, a hard plastic shell snaps on over the front to cover the screen during times of transit. This shell also has an integrated stand to hold the iPad at comfortable viewing angles when watching videos for example.

The only criticism of this case is the clear plastic screen protector element. It doesn't attach directly to the screen and as such you get an oil slick/water mark effect on the screen that also dulls the image slightly. I couldn't live with that (neither can most people reading the reviews - but that doesn't stop it being an awesome case in all other respects), so I removed that and used a separate high quality screen protector instead (not included).

These cost a fortune new, but I'm asking just £20 including mainland UK delivery.
