Would be interesting to hear what others think. Personally I felt both movies were equally good stories. MDB was quite moving but Aviator excellent as well. However I did think the Oscar for Best Director out of the two was clear cut. MDB took 5 weeks to make and nothing in the Direction department stood out. Whereas The Aviator was full of brilliant and more complex direction due to the nature of the movie. There was only one Best Director there last night and he was embarassingly robbed yet again. Best film may have been a close call but certainly not Best Director.
