Anyone know a good place to order Half-life 2? As they are only realising it on DVD in the UK, and I do not have a DVD player in my computer, I may have to order it from abroad. Any suggestions?

    Cheers

The extra postage from the sates would probably cover the cost of a DVD drive.

You have a week to download it, as long as you have unlimited access over it, you can just leave it running in the background.

    Cheapest option by far.

But you still have to pay for your Steam Account.

The cheapest I have seen HL2 available for is £26.99, DVD ROM Drives only cost £20.00 so you get to play HL2 for less than the RRP of the game.

And you can then watch DVD's on your PC.

I've just ordered the Silver package from Steam a minute ago for a cost of $70.44 , whatever that comes to in £'s.
Was going to buy from the shops till i heard you don't get DOD Source when released.

took 2 full days and nights to download HL2, but then again, I bought the silver package which gives me access to all the back catalogues and the Valve folder is nearly 6gb !!

No wonder it took 48 hours to download on a 512k broadband connection

If you order physical content from another country outside the EU -- HL2 is DVD only in Europe -- you will probably have to pay tax and duty and courier fee. This will come to more than £15 a DVD-ROM drive would cost you.
