I have placed a couple of orders recently with amazon.co.jp and was wondering about the following....

Long postal times.....The 2 orders I have placed are showing "expected delivery" dates that are almost a month after the order dates, is this the norm?

I choose "International Economy" to keep costs down, yet the 1 order that shows shipped states 'DHL Worldmail' - is DHL their "economy" option? or have they changed my shipping method? (I always stay away from ANY shipping method with DHL in the name as the depot is stupidly far from me)

While babelfish isn't bad, its far from perfect ;)

I have ordered a heap of stuff from Amazon Japan and usually get it delivered less than 2 weeks (on average) after its dispatched (to Dublin). I have never had to wait for the 4 weeks they quote. They are probably just quoting a worst case time.

All my orders (even the big ones) show "International Economy" as the shipping method. I don't know why they would have sent yours by DHL. Did they charge you extra?

I got charged 900 Yen for postage in both cases (Minority Report SE and Alien Quadrilogy UC) which I think is the standard price for International Economy....

Good to hear they probably won't take a month to arrive tho :smashin:

If it's DHL you should get it within 5 days. I did with I Robot.

Very quick and well packed. - It was the head version.

It depends on if it's DHL Worldmail or Express.

The I,Robot heads were sent express and took about 3-5 days (mine was 3).

I've got a Chicago boxset and Original Sin DTS sent via DHL Worldmail on the 7/4 and I'm still waiting.

It just depends on the service & customs!

    Sadmuppet,

Did you get hit by customs ?

If you have a tracking number then you can see its location - good or bad.

For I, Robot I had a tracking number and didn't get hit for customs.

The Worldmail - no tracking number and they have a delivery estimate as "23/5 to 13/6" - having said that, it did ship 3-4 weeks earlier than they estimated.
