i ordered a dvd player from techtronics on the 30th of december and it is still not here yet.

they say they are still waiting for stock from the manufacturer.

has anyone had a similar problem?

or does anyone recomend somwhere where i can get a Pioneer DV-464-S multiregion for around £91.99.

Not sure if they are having probs. I ordered a 565a a few weeks ago. Ordered on the wednesday and received on the Monday.

But now it's saying awaiting stock and has been like that since I ordered.

I'm happy but I reckoning a lot of others aren't - the 30th December is a long long time....

I'm still waiting for my Pioneer 868AVi from Techtronics.

I also ordered towards the end of December and have been given the same excuse twice now.

Still no one else seems to have them in stock (well not at a sensible price anyway).

I notice you have a Sky+ box revised to give component video. I'm interested in this for my Hitachi 42PD3000 plasma. Can you help?

Is it sustantially better than RGB?
    Does it give Pal Prog?
Can it be done with a regular Sky box?
    How much did it cost?

    Thanks in anticipation!

i think pioneer should now have stock as the 668 is shipping again now.
All companies prices are good while they haven't got any, makes good adverts!!
Techtronics used to be really good but not from what I hear on here now....

    Hi

My SKY+ box has not been modified in any way. Instead I'm using a RGB Scart into the JS Technology box to output component (3 x phono) into my AMP. Progressive scan in not possible only interelaced.

Previously I was using S-Video from the SKY+ box into my AMP and I do find the picture quality is better via component.

The reason for this is that RGB is better than S-VIDEO.

From what I've heard, Techtronics can sometimes have lengthy lead-in times.
A while ago I was going to order some speakers for my pc, though was undecided, but checked now again on their site if they were in stock - and even after 2 months they still were awaiting stock! Don't now have representative this is of other items.

Ordered a Tosh 42wh36 on the 31st Dec, still waiting....

But they did take the money out on the 22nd Jan, so I spose that's some progress!!!!!

(If I see sent-for-picking on their tracking site for much longer, I'll go maaaaaaad).

Perhaps it's just me, but I think taking payment prior to despatch is completely out of order.

Is that actually authorised by the CC company without the customer's explicit agreement?
