You will definately get it at the price you ordered it at IE £2404!!

Than once you've got it and installed it, you can give yourself a pat on the back for bagging a bargain!!!

I can't wait!! Bit concerned about the length of that cable though!!??

Apparently the cable between the screen and the media box is only about 2 metres, I'm planning on mounting mine on the chimney breast and running the cable through the wall, down and across to the left hand alcove, but I don't think 2 metres will be quite long enough, Hitachi want around £180 for the 10 metre lead!! The lead consists of a DVI cable and an 8 pin mini din, joined together, I'm hoping that the DVI cable is just a standard dual DVI and that the 8 pin mini din has the same pin positions as the 8 pin mini din keyboard cables, as these are considerably cheaper to buy in longer lengths. I have posted the questions relating to this on the 'Hitachi 42PD3000 Cable questions' thread

I wont be having that problem, mrs wont let me put any holes in the wall wont even let me drill holes in it to wall hang it. So itll be sitting on my Ikea cabinet with sphagetti junction behind it ;o)

On the stand ive noticed two holes, do you know if it is worthwhile to screw or bolt the stand/plasma to the unit??

    Cheers

From what I've seen of the stand, it is very sturdy, and unless you have little ones running around, it should be OK. That's the reason for wall mounting mine, my little 1 yr old boy loves climbing up the front of the current TV and placing fingerprints on the screen!!

Just in case it helps anyone.... The media box is designed to lie flat, or stand on its side. The sensor for the remote control is on the screen...NOT... the media box, so it can be hidden away. If you switch off the screen, the media box automatically goes onto stand-by after 2 or 3 secs, so reaaly doesn't need to be accessable at all.

It's an old school nickname... nothing to do with footy.
We may be skint, but at least we are still managing to sign players.
I assume you support the kick and rush merchants.
The 4 buttons for the Celtic FIFA 2004 game have been assigned to:
Punt - Shoot - Dive - Claim Penalty

Though I will grudgingly admit that these tactics are successful. :(

Hope you enjoy watching the Teddy Bears back in their rightful place next season. The Hitachi is a great screen.

    That makes more sense :D

Not a really big football fan, don't follow any particular team.

A question about your other equipment. Is the Pana DVD Recorder any good?? Fancy getting another new toy to go with the plasma so was looking at dvd-recorders to go along with Sky+ (another new toy) ;o)

Is it any good how easy is it to record from SKY+ to the Pana??

    Cheers

To be honest, I've only used it twice for recording. Playback is excellent, but I tend to use Sky+ for all my recording ( I ordered the DVD Recorder the week before Sky did away with the additional Sky+subscription charge, so I got it as an afterthought).
Sky+ has a single button transfer of recording onto video. Don't see why it won't transfer onto DVD if set-up correctly. Will try it myself, when I get time.

Or does anyone else know if it's possible to transfer Sky+ recordings onto DVD ?

I got a DMR-E50 - A most excellent little recorder. I have read in the dvd recording forum of lip sync problems when recording from Sky with it though
