So this will be an interesting thread...

I'm looking to Part-Ex my existing MacBook Pro for one of lower value. It's overkill for my needs (it's that age old thing.. you buy something way more high spec than you need!)

Specs of MacBook are as follows:

Macbook Pro 13" 2017 TouchBar Version
    Core i5 @ 3.1GHz
    250GB SSD
    8GB RAM
    Intel Iris Graphics are 1536MB
    AppleCare Coverage to September 2020
Battery Cycle count is 4 (It's pretty much lives on the mains)
Condition is excellent, the only reason I'm not classing it as mint is because its not brand new

Comes boxed with power adapter and would while preference would be to deal in person, I'm open to postage for the right offer. As you can imagine, insurance on the delivery will be at a premium, ballpark prices are about £40 delivery alone.

Ideally, I'd like to come out of this with a minimum of £200 cash from any prospective buyer depending on the item they are trading. Otherwise, I'm happy to sell for £1100. Even on the refurb store, this MacBook goes for £1489 before you purchase additional AppleCare.

    Price and currency: £1150
Delivery: Delivery cost is included within my country
    Payment method: BT/PPG
    Location: Basingstoke
    Advertised elsewhere?: Not advertised elsewhere
Prefer goods collected?: I prefer the goods to be collected

    • Landline telephone number. Make a call to check out the area code and number are correct, too
    • Name and address including postcode
    • Valid e-mail address
DO NOT proceed with a deal until you are completely satisfied with all details being correct. It's in your best interest to check out these details yourself.

    Hi

How old are you prepared to accept?

Is mid-2013 MBPr too old for example?

    Hi there,

What sort of spec is it? If I'm honest, that's pretty bang on for my requirements.. Roughly what do you value you it at if I may ask?

    Hi

I’m just throwing some ideas at the moment around MrG tbh. It’s a 13.3” pro Retina with SSD. I’m not in front of currently to check the spec, but essentially it’s been my desktop replacement hooked up to a Dell screen in clamshell mode . It’s lived it’s life in a Speck Candy shell on my office desk and never left the house, and was purchased direct from Apple by me personally.

    I’ll come back to you...

Would you be interested in a current model 13” MacBook Air? I just sold my 15” here today and am looking to replace it (and my Air) with a 13” Pro.

It’s the current top spec with 8GB RAM and 256GB SSD that has an RRP of £1100. It’s a couple of months old but barely used and like new. Can offer £250 on top?

Interesting, IU'm assuming that means there is about 10 months warranty left on it?

Would it be ok to take the night to think it over?

Yes, I believe so but I’ll double check the warranty details tomorrow.

No worries, let me know whenever you’re ready.

    Thanks

Thanks for the offer but a 512 SSD is pretty overkill for my needs and the offer of an additional £250 is where my heads at right now.

Let me know how that warranty situation stands and if all being well, I’d probably take you up on your offer of the additional £250 and ideally do an in person swap etc.

Are you ruling it out purely on the 512GB SSD? Im not put off with the £250 payment your way - although I was hoping for less than that... Mine originally started off at £1025 once I'd added the AppleCare so we're not far apart.. You'd be getting a hardly used Air, perfect condition with an almost 2 year warranty.

Difference in value of your asking and mine is £150 - so could we meet in the middle at £200?

I’ll be honest, another £50 versus a 512GB HDD is the more attractive option and based on your location, an in person deal with @99P is more attractive as if I have to post I’m looking at £50 minimum cost.

The warranty runs until 27th April 2019 so a little older than I first thought, although it's mint with 2 battery cycles.

I'm in London so a trade in person might be difficult unless you're due to travel to or close to London any time soon?

Whereabouts are you located? I'm up for a drive somewhere this weekend so am happy to take a trip out if things work for both of us.
