So many different budget prices and models for the Optoma's. i.e.

    HD600X, HD66, HD67, HD200X

With the HD600X coming in at £389 its very attractive at that price. I youtubed a lot of these and the HD66/HD67 looks very good but at around £500. Is there really £110 difference between them ?

Then there is the Acer H5360 at around £480.

After much deliverance and weeks of faffing around I decided to get the Acer H5360. I was within a nats whisker of buying the HD67. I want to view 3d as well as use the pj for general use, the acer seems a better product (Nvision ready and almost twice the lumens of the Optomas.

I have the Acer on a shelf and it is truely amazing, crystal clear picture and great quality optics. I have watched a few films now and I cant fault the picture, I dont see any RBE or flickering as is the case with Optomas at times.

    This is my opinion

Thanks for that buddy. Can you tell me if with the Acer, you can plug up a blu-ray 3d player or sky 3d directly to it ? It seems with the Optoma's there is an addon coming out to enable this.

Nope.. Been said the Optoma adapter may work with the Acer too though..

I love Optomas pre-sale service and choose the hd67.. Wouldn't be surprised if the HD600x was next to identical though.
I'd try to get a demo of both the Acer and Optoma if possible.

Didnt put much thought into the spare lamp prices but I have just noticed that a lamp replacement for the Optoma's is around the £130 mark, one for the Acer is £140. Not much in it.

If Sky and/or PS3D is important to you I would go for optoma as the 3D-XL is confirmed to work. Personally I think it will work with the ACER but AFAIK it has not been confirmed.

I think it will work with the acer, the comments in the following YouTube clip (from Optoma) say it has been tested and works:

Looks like this badboy is gonna cost £250. Almost half the price of the projectors.

This video from optoma is like some kind of investigation not presentation, like they are in police and make their statement.

The alternative is getting a dedicated 3D PJ and they are £3.5K.

No its the same as the HD67 you have to get the 3d-xl. I have used Nvidia 3d Vision on my acer (works with 3d without the need to use the 3d-XL box) on a 3d AVI file (avatar) and the results were amazing- thanks to the high lumens on the Acer unit. Go get one now....!

Unless I'm reading it wrong, I thought that those res' were what the 3D-XL can accept ? so if 1080/24 SBS is not listed, it wont accept that to convert to 720p ?

Just heard word back from Optoma. 1080p/24 SBS is supported. Their 'spec' is wrong and will be changed.

Actually November was mentioned for a US launch with a European one in January. However, either that was misinformation or the date slipped in the US as well.

depends what spec PC you have. Cost me £120 for the nvidia 3d vision kit as i already had a bluray drive and nvidia graphics card. Been watching 3D since sept 2010, no waiting around for unreleased hardware :)

And you are watching 1080p via a PJ? Nice one didn't realise you could do that via a PC.

the acer is only 720p, using the optoma addon to do the 3D output or the PC the result will be the same.
