well, one left on amazon. £901 !

If you were fortunate to be checking and had prime with amazon over the last 2 days , you could have bagged yourself a "used-like new one" one for £570.

i was looking at paying around £500 for a fairly decent 4K projector.
even if a £2000 one was reduced to £900 - i would not have gone for it.

Who can see the DLP Rainbow Effect?
The Rainbow effect affects only a small portion of projector viewers...

For the highly susceptible, the rainbow effect is an absolute deal breaker, and their only option is getting a projector that works around this problem. Others are mildly susceptible, and only notice the light strobes when they fixate on them.

How to Minimize the DLP Rainbow Effect
People who are only mildly susceptible to the DLP rainbow effect can learn to live with it...In such cases, the user only sees the effect when doing rigorous head movements. Furthermore, the effect is only noticeable when a prominent white object shows up against a darker background. What is the DLP Rainbow Effect? - The Projector Expert

I'm in the mildly susceptible group and it doesn't really bother me at all...The head movement thing is spot on but again (for me) not an issue...I'm on my second DLP PJ...HD to 4K ;)

yep indeed , there are advantages and disadvantages over one and another.
The rainbow affect seems to be big deal here, but at the same time some people see/get it and others don't.
Best to try some, read reviews about a projector whatever it might be (DLP/LCD) and make your own mind up.

It makes you wonder why anyone would make DLP projectors if so many people suffer from the rainbow effect Blues Rock.

Maybe because there are so few people who it really affects, especially now that they have more segments in the colour wheels and they spin faster that the better blacks, lack of screen door effect and usually more affordable price, it makes more sense to still make them as they seem to be able to sell quite a lot of them from lots of different manufacturers.
