 Went to demo the PD50 today and wow the picture was fantastic better than i thought, ok the analoge tuners are not very good but with sky+ thats not an issue.
Once they had hooked up a denon 3910 via dvi and set it to 720p i was hooked.
Not bothered by the ntsc issue as why would you want to see a dvd with less resolution? :suicide:

Might be a problem if you're a console gamer. Or if you're into asian movies.

Don't have a gamecube myself but I think I read that there are games for it that only run on NTSC or PAL60, no 50Hz output possible.

My mom uses her XBOX with HiDef output and that only works with NTSC. :thumbsdow

PAL xbox games are 50hz & 60Hz (PAL60) but the HD version of the xbox (ie modded or US) is only 60hz NTSC. I run my xbox at 50hz with no problems. I didnt know that game cube could only do 60hz. I beleive the next gen xbox and PS will have 50Hz & 60Hz, at least I hope so. :lease:

Sounds like you have a cool mum, mine struggles with a video recorder (still love her to bits tho  )

gamecube can do 50Hz, there are just some games that only output in 60Hz. Probably cheaper to launch that title in europe that way.

My mum also struggles with a VCR :) I just gave her a modded Xbox so she could watch DivX,Xvids etc. without having to use a PC. Wasn't and still am, not satisfied with the abilities of stand alone divx players.
Xbox can even play some 720p xvids.
