Looks like AVLand have screwed up on the pricing:

    http://www.avland.co.uk/optoma/h77/h77.htm

Surely this isn't right is it? Everywhere else is charging around £3500.

I'm going to give them a call on Monday to see if its correct and then possibly get one ordered.

Just recieved an email from AVLand's MD regarding my order.

It appears its a typo and should read £3495, so my order has been cancelled :(

The website is now showing that its been taken off sale for 24hrs whilst the person responsible is repremanded for making them look foolish.

This is also neccessary for UK trading standards purposes if they are to refuse a sale due to incorrect pricing....

    Hi Ben,

I placed an order for one but recieved an email within hours that I wouldn't be getting on at anywhere near that price:

Would have been very happy if that was the correct price though!

Not helped, I bet, by how many other people also ordered one following your post :D. I did and I know of at least two others who did so this will have set alarm bells ringing at AV Land. They probably sell one pj a week or similar and then had a dozen or more orders all on one evening and for the same pj. Sometimnes with things like this it's best to order one, keep quiet and then shout about it if you get yours :D. Although on this occasion I doubt you would have got one.

I too got that exact same e-mail at 2328 last night. I bet Kingsley (AV Land MD) thought it was Christmas come early, until he looked at the details

Its quite an interesting area of contract law I think, the situation atm seems to be that if ordered online then that is an invitation to treat, only when the retailer confirms the order (whether an automated reply constitutes an acceptance is a grey area) does a contract exist.

Still, from what I have seen and heard about this machine, its worth 3.5k! Can't wait for ours to arrive :smashin:

ShinObiWAN - have you seen one yet? It takes a while for things to migrate northwards you see

I thought I'd share the wealth on here just incase it was for real.

I bet he was taking a loss at least £600 at the incorrect price, so I doubt anybody would have seen one regardless of shouting about it or not.

Gutted now because I have to start searching all over again, at the minute I'm seriously considering either the Benq 7800 or the Optoma H56. I'm kinda stuck between a rock and hard place though regarding the resolution of these machines. I do a fair bit of PC gamming when time allows and the resolution of the Benq is very restrictive with only a 1024x576 panel, which means I could even use 800x600 with 1:1 mapping.
The H56 on the other hand is 1024x768 but lacks the matterhorn chipset.

Personally think I'm going with the Optoma but may hold off for a couple of months until the details regarding the new LCD's like the Sony HS50 and the Panasonic AE700. Epson have also just finished a new LCD panel which boasts contrast over 50% higher than the current generation.
