Optoma dv10 :Help - no audio out on dvd

I hope any dv10 owners can offer me some help and advice please?

I recently bought an Optoma dv10 which I connect to my stereo through the standard audio out jack. This works well when I project my pc, playstation and set top box but just won't work with the integral dvd player.

I've been through the manual and menus but still can't make it work. If I turn the volume up on the built in speakers I can faintly hear sound on my stereo so there is something there.

Any advice greatly appreciated.

Cheers. I'm wondering if I have to buy an optical audio cable for it but I hope there's a way around it.
