Optoma announce new 1080p 3D projector HD8300

The hd82 can be got as refurb for 1099, the Jvc hd350 is now 1699 at richer sounds, I'm ready to pull the trigger on one of them but now the budget 1080p 3d option is making me stall, grrr, just can't make my mind up.

I was also tempted to wait for the 3D projectors but decided to order a new HD82 for £1300:clap:
At that price it seemed wrong not too.

the hd33 is listed on a finnish website for 1700 euros but they want 400 euros for a 3dxl,i guess everythings more expensive in finland.

according to them the hd33 is the european version of the hd3300 and is full hd 3d with a release date of early october.

£1500 seems more reasonable now.

I wish Optoma would get a move on with announcements and more importantly- how much we'll be charged.

I'm about to replace my Infocus 7210, which cost me less than £1300 nearly 5 years ago and has given me great service with 3 (or 4) lamps worth of hours from just 2 lamps. At nearly £200 a lamp I'd rather put it toward a new projector.

HD83 (out of my budget at £2399.99):
Optoma DLP Projector HD83

So it's the HD33 (£1349):
Optoma EMEA - HD33: Life-Size Full High Definition 1080p 3D at Home

or perhaps a good 2D projector like the HD82 or HD350 - as you pointed out.

I guess I'll have to keep considering my options...

Hi all.
According to www.progressive-av.com the hd83 is being released next week - they're expecting their stock to arrive on Monday 24th October.

Although we've had our demonstration unit here at Roy Jowett AV for three weeks!

The HD83 offers much more with 2D bringing out far more of everything than the HD33 which when you consider the Pricing difference is exactly what it should do!

With 3D it's better but it's 2D where it score's in my eyes.

Hello
i just bought optoma last friday, before had optoma hd80 and mitsubishi hc4000, and i must say that picture quality in that one is best of all, i dont saw any pumping in dark scenes , and picture is vivid and wery bright, with lot of pop ,much better then my mitsubishi and black is much darker , also 3d is very good sharp crisp and vivid , much better then optoma hd67, and glasses with dlp link work perfectly. If you have some question about this one please ask

Those pics look stunning...

Yes and what is even better is in the states the 8300 is $1000 more than the AE7000 where here the 83 is about $1300 LESS a big advantage in our favour for a change.

I am very confused about these conflicting claims about which projector has the best black level :-(

I would like to see the HD83 compared to Hd87..

Yup seems that us Europeans get Optima at very favourable prices...

The 87 is bound to have the better black levels I have seen nowhere that suggests it has not.

87= 80k contrast
83= 30k

well, I am always sceptical about these claimed ratios :D
My Barco Graphics 808 has 25k ratio, but would own any of these any day...

I would be less sure about that these days things have come on a fair bit in the last 3-4 years.:)
