My new AV room is 16ft long by 14ft wide, with my viewing position about 12ft from the wall. I am thinking that the best mounting height would be to have the bottom edge of the plasma 4ft from the floor.

Has anyone any advice on the optimum mounting height.

Also, should I consider a flat or tilting bracket?

Anything that starts the plasma around 1m from the floor would work well.

I don't like to be looking up at an image from a seating position, that's why I don't like above the fire place mounting unless you are far enough away.

Neck should be relaxed whilst looking directly at the middle of the screen IMO.
