I need to connect the sound out from my Sky + to my all-in-one Panasonic SCHT 840. The Panasonic does not have any optical inputs, however I understand that to get the benefit of the 5.1 out of the Sky + box I have to utilise the optical out. Is there a converter from optical to the red and white RCA phono jacks?

    Thanks in advance!

The red & white phono sockets are for stereo only, so you will gain no benefit going optical to these inputs. To get 5.1 surround from Sky you need either an optical input, or optical to coax conveter and a coax input on your amp.
